About

I’m a Scanner: a woman of broad and varying interests, something like a jack-of-all-trades except I’ve actually gone to the trouble of mastering some.

My name, Naomi Theora Most, contracts down to the handle I now use most of the time, “nthmost“, which an adorable math joke if you know it, and eye-glazing tedium to hear explained if you don’t already know it.

If you ask me what I do, I might answer one of a dozen ways.  Maybe if you skim through these Pages you’ll know what you really want to ask me.

The Resume

If there is a unifying theme to my interests and pursuits, it’s “hooking stuff up to other stuff” and also “making the world less pointlessly frustrating.”  To that end, I enjoy studying neuroscience, philosophy, psychology, marketing, cognitive science, evolutionary biology, and socioeconomics.  If you’d like to see how I’m trying to connect all of these things together, go read my collaborative blog, MemeHacking.

In major universities I’ve studied linguistics, computer science, mathematics (to differential equations and linear algebra), anthropology, French literature, and Japanese culture.

The world has caused me to learn leadership, sales, volunteer coordination, business development, and copyright law.  I own two businesses that I comfortably roll in and out of active operation depending on my needs, hiring contractors when necessary.

Travels have taken me to Hungary, Honduras, Japan, Canada, and almost every State and Commonwealth in the U.S.A. with the notable inclusion of Puerto Rico (which I love, despite my distaste for squalor).

I’m also a bit of a health nut, an avid singer and drummer, a reluctant guitarist, an occasional role-playing gamer, and a sinusoidal martial artist.
